ABOUT US

Moyle Rovers is a G.A.A. club located near Clonmel in Co. Tipperary, Ireland. The club was founded in 1928 and derives its name from the river Moyle which runs through the Powerstown-Lisronagh parish and joins the river Anner. The club have been very successful in recent years at all levels and grades in Men’s, Ladies’ and Juvenile competitions. The club grounds, Monroe, was officially opened in 1990. In recent years a complex has been added to the grounds making it one of the most modern G.A.A. centres in South Tipperary.

 

Directions From the Bypass in Clonmel:

  • Exit on the Fethard Road roundabout heading towards Fethard.

  • Drive for 5km and turn right, the turnoff is well signposted.

  • The entrance to the club is on your left hand side at the top of the hill.

 

 Notable Achievements:

Tipperary Senior Football Championship Winners: 7 times, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2007, 2009.

South Tipperary Senior Football Championship Winners: 11 times, 1991, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.

Tipperary Junior Hurling Championship Winners: 2 times, 1998, 2007.

South Tipperary Junior Championship Winners: 8 times, 1968, 1974, 1982, 1988, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2007.

 

Many championships have also been won at Ladies and Juvenile levels.

 

Notable Players:

Declan Browne has represented Ireland in the International Rules series against Australia and has won 2 All Star football awards playing for Tipperary. Derry Foley has also represented Ireland in the International Rules Series.
